Costs and Personal Contributions

Maternity care is reimbursed with the basic insurance. However, there is a statutory personal contribution of € 4.50 per hour. Depending on your insurance policy, your personal contribution will be reimbursed in full, partially or not at all. Check your own policy terms and conditions for details. Furthermore, it differs by insurer or 100% NZA (Dutch Healthcare Authority) how maternity care is paid. You can also check your own policy terms and conditions for this. 

Health insurers often try to direct you to organisations where they have existing contracts. However, you always have the option to opt for an independent maternity nurse. Always contact me first!
